Vimy 100 Ceremony – Sunday April 9th at 2pm

Vimy 100 Ceremony – Sunday April 9th at 2pm

On Sunday at the Grand Parade starting at 2:00 PM (1400) there will be a memorial service for the many Canadians lost (10,602 casualties: 3,598 killed and 7,004 wounded) at the Battle of Vimy ridge. This year marks the 100th anniversary. The event is supported by Scouts Canada.

Bagheera (Derek Spencer) plans to go with his Beaver and Cub. As the details have been very late to be made available to us at the 26th, he’s not expecting any other participation. If there is interest, families and friends from 26th are more than welcome to join him! He will also be in a position to transport up to 2 people in his van, if needed.

If you would like to go and need a ride, his email is majorspencer@gmail.com.

He will have a 26th Halifax flag and as always, you can look for the red and white neckerchief.

There will be a short reception following the ceremony for those who attend.
