27 Feb This week: Pancake Supper volunteering and Rock Climbing!
There are two updates below: the Pancake Supper and Wednesday’s activity:
1) Pancake Supper tomorrow
Tomorrow night (Tuesday) is the Annual Pancake Supper, a fundraiser to 26th Halifax! Please share this with friends and family as monies raised help fund our scouting program to benefit youth. Cubs should come in uniform!
Tuesday, February 28th, 5 – 7 pm at St. Agnes Church Hall (View map)
Admission: $8 per adult / $4 per youth (under 12). Tickets at the door.
Help needed
We’re looking for some help tomorrow night at the Pancake Supper. Specifically, we need help with set-up, the first hour (both youth and parents), the second hour (both youth and parents) and tear down. Scouter John Blake will assign tasks to volunteers on the floor.
- Cubs and Beavers will help serve food; they also get a free pancake supper for helping out!
- Adults will help guide Cubs and Beavers as table servers plus help with tasks not suited for youth such as: serving coffee/tea/juice, scraping dishes, loading the dish washer, running the dessert cart (with a Beaver).
We have several shifts available. Please sign up here > www.volunteersignup.org/4FECK
2) Wednesday’s Activity – 2 hours of climbing
Rock Climbing at Ground Zero Climbing Gym – Wednesday, March 1 @ 6:30-8:30 PM
Drop off/Pick up – in Ground Zero (View Google Map – 7 Mellor Avenue, Dartmouth, NS B3B 0E8 – Unit #3 at the Wright Place [at the corner of Wright Avenue and John Savage Avenue] in the Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The gym is most easily accessed from John Savage Avenue.)
This is a special 2-hour Cub’s outing where Cubs and parents will learn about climbing safety, equipment and Cubs will get lots of hands-on experience on the walls.
We need parents to assist at this event and help manage guide ropes, so if you have availability, we need you!
See you tomorrow and Wednesday,
Baloo, Cubs HQ
