26 Nov Cubs – End of Year Agenda and Badges
Hi Cubs families,
Here’s what’s coming up with Cubs for the remainder of 2017.
Wed., November 29th: Holiday crafts at the hall
6:30-8 pm
Families (and siblings) are welcome to join in as we prepare holiday cards and decorations, to be delivered to the residents of Sir. John Thompson Manor (seniors residence). This is one of our community service activities and the more decorations we can produce, the better!
We need parent volunteers to assist in the craft and card making. Please reply to this message and let us know if you can help!
Wed., December 6th: Halifax Explosion 100
6:30-8 pm
We’ll be doing an activity around the topic of the centenary of the explosion which falls on this date, details TBD
Wed., December 13th: No Cubs (due to school concerts)
Thu., December 14th: Annual Carol Sing and end of year celebration
6:30-8 pm
Family and friends are welcome (and encouraged) to attend this annual tradition at 26th Halifax! Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will be in attendance.
Please confirm your attendance for this event
Badge testing
Please take some time to look at your Cubs achievements and progress in the Cub Scout program via ScoutsTracker.ca. When you login, look in the left-hand column for their Seeonee Award progress (click on it to see details) and the Outdoor Activity Skills (OAS Stages – also clickable). You can browse the different badges and requirements in the Cubs program here!
Many Cubs have the requirements for a number of badge areas completed (Aquatic 1, 2, etc.). Check off the requirements that are ready for review and then let us know. We’ll review them with your Cub! If there are skills that need to be completed in order to finish an OAS badge, note what they are and you can work on them with your Cub, or you can let us know and we’ll talk to you about whether we can incorporate it into our program as well!
